dindobernardo: What is experimental-modern choreography? How I wish you could tell me in person!
Emily: I wish I could tell you in person too…or at least show you! Its hard to explain in words. The best way I can describe it is movement that created with less of a technique and rules like that of ballet or jazz and more regimented around the idea of working anatomically…creating movement with the joints, bones, tissue and cells in mind. A lot of choreographers like to incorporate apolitical, historical, biographical, theoretical, et. components to there work. I tend to focus on aesthetic and stimulus in mine.
